Ojuhomon 1 of Emme Ora Endorses Pastor Ize-Iyamu for Governor – Owan people reject Oshiomoles government, call it discriminatory

The campaign train of the PDP governorship candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu arrived at the palace of the Ojuhomon 1 of Emme yesterday to solicit his support for the forth coming election.

The PDP governorship candidate was not to be disappointed as the royal father gave his blessings and whole hearted endorsement and that of his people to the PDP candidate.
His quick approval of the candidate underscores the frustration of the people in the community with the Oshiomole led APC government.

The whole Owan it was learnt are of the belief that the comrade governor harbors a hatred of the people of Owan as he has gone out of his way at various times to torpedo any ambitions of the sons of that land and to starve the people of any form of governmental development.

Three examples highlight the hatred and perfidy the people say the comrade governor have for the people of Owan particular. The first is the 2015 elections in which one of their eminent sons Professor Ihonvere was running for primary elections in the APC for the senate seat. Oshiomole was said to have vowed that Ihonvere will not get the ticket as long as he was governor. At the time the Governor of the state(Oshiomole) was from the Etsako and the deputy was a Bini man so it was expected that in Edo north, the senate seat will be slated to Owan. Oshiomole insisted on giving this ticket to an Auchi person from the same Etsako to the detriment of the Owan people and in the process completely humiliated Professor Ihonvere who was the most qualified and most popular of  the candidates.

The second incident is the Vice Chancellor position in the state owned university. The Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma needed a new Vice Chancellor and as the academia usually does, various candidates vied for the position and they were made to take examinations to determine the best suited for the position. The best three candidates had their names sent to the governor for selection with Professor Bagaki from Owan leading the bunch by a wide margin. Here again Oshiomole slighted the people of Owan by side stepping the Owan man who was best qualified for the position and picking a far less qualified candidate for vice chancellor, a professor Onimawu from Uzairue in Etsako the comrades local government.

Oshiomoles perfidy peaked when he sent road construction equipment to Okpuje in Owan west on the eve of the APC primary elections in the state. After he had manipulated his preferred candidates into position in the primaries, the bulldozers and road graders began to disappear from Owan one by One and at this very moment there are no equipment present neither has any construction taken place.


Little wonder the people of Owan and their Chiefs do not want to hear the name Oshiomole and will side with anyone who can get his influence out of the government house in Benin.
