RECORD BREAKING: PDP flags off in Benin, declares Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as candidate – 30,000+ supporters attend
History was made in Edo state as the PDP flags off its gubernatorial campaign in Benin city.
Approximately 30,000 enthusiastic persons were cramped inside the 24,000 seater capacity hall. The hall is full to brim with all 24,000 seats occupied and majority others standing and filling up every available space inside the hall.
While the main hall was full to brimming, the second hall which is a 2500 capacity hall was also filled to capacity with a big screen. Outside the hall, in the field, were at least ten canopies each having 50 seats, were also filled to capacity. In the open field outside the Hall wsa a mammoth crowd of hundreds of people.
Chief Dan Orbih, the PDP chairman, declared Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the PDP chairman of Edo state.
Special dignitaries at the event include Chief Tony Anenih, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, Chief Tom Ikimi, Senator Yisa Braimoh, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, Senator Clifford Ordia, Senator Odion Ugbesia, Hon Omosede Igbinedion, and others.
Highlight of the event was the defection of 1200 former members of the APC to the PDP, including the leaders of Egor LGA area.
