THE LEGACIES OF THE MAN ADAMS ALIU OSHIOMOLE IN EDO STATE
The launching also saw the emergence of the Edo Mandate
Recovering Group A PDP Stalwart Daniel Ogbegie , Esq. who addressed the
gathering at length said the group is
not to serve as a rival group to the party but another platform to galvanic Edo
people who would hitherto not have the chance to be on the PDP table to
contribute their quota towards recovering this mandate.
He further to express the will of the Edo
people to see the end of the plundering of their rescources that went on under
Mr. Adams Oshiomole in the last 8 years. He enumerated:
Oshiomole sourced 30 billion Naira from the stock market for
the Benin city storm water project but after 8
years, he cannot tell Edo people how the money
was spent. As of the handover, Oshiomole is handing over a phantom project to
Obaseki. 30 billion Naira has gone down the drain.
Oshiomole invited the President Buhari to come to Edo to commission renovated schools and resurfaced roads,
cost of which he continues to hide from the people. For 8 years he failed to
embark on any project that has direct economic benefits for Edo people. In the
whole of Oshiomoles two terms he did not employ one person into Edo State
civil service. He destroyed the civil service and institutionalized corruption
and mediocrity in public institutions.
Under Oshiomole the state House of Assembly became an
institution under the governors office. A few days ago just at the end of his
tenure they approved over 5 billion naira for the governor, a great disservice
to Edo state.
He was also responsible for the destruction and the
decertification of all the schools of nursing in Edo
state while primping himself over the construction of a shell of a Central
hospital without staff or equipment.
Oshiomole also desecrated the traditional institutions of the Edo people with his constant out pouring of vituperation on the high chiefs of the Edo people culminating in the supspension and then dethronement of the Onojie of Uromi on a whim
This is the legacy Adams Aliu Oshiomole left in Edo state
