Dr (Mrs.) Idia Ize-Iyamu, wife of the PDP candidate, has said that the true liberation of Edo people from the burden of hunger and ill health would begin with the less privileged, especially women.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ize-Iyamu, a consultant orthodontist and senior lecturer, Preventive Dentistry at the University of Benin stated this in Auchi yesterday, saying that women and children were the first victims of misgovernance.

She noted that it was the fundamental duty of a responsible government to identify itself with the hopes and aspirations of the people.

Conducting a free cervical cancer screening for women in Fate Medical Centre, Auchi, she said the measure would go a long way in helping to reduce the burden of medical care in the state just as she also conducted free medical treatment to detect high blood pressure and related ailments peculiar to women.

She implored all women in the state to come out en masse to cast their votes for her husband saying the PDP government would accord more priority to the healthcare of the people. She observed that the closing down of the State School of Nursing and lack of basic facilities in government hospitals had brought untold hardship to the people.

Gloria Okon: Will we ever know the true story?*

It seems the Dele Giwa murder is one of those historical events that will forever live in the legend of conspiracy theory. Gloria Okon, or Chinyere as she been claimed to be, is a different case. Given what we know, her story seems to be one that could be solved. Ms Betty Okoebor Defies Oshiomhole, begs Onojie of Uromi - Says It is a sacrilege for me to demand or receive apology from my King

A mild drama has started in Edo State as Ms Betty Okoebor, the woman in the middle of the crisis between Onojie of Uromi and outgoing Edo State governor,  Adams Oshiomhole, has said that she did not request for any apology and does not seek any apology from the Onojie of Uromi. In a personally signed letter to the Edo State governor, a copy of which was made available to Urhokpota Reporters, Ms Okoebor said she has since reconciled with the Onojie and she does not require the governor to humiliate the Onojie of Uromi on her behalf. “Your Excellency” the letter of Okoebor reads, “note that as a loyal daughter of the Throne of the Onojie of Uromi, it will be sacrilegious for me to demand or receive apology from His Majesty, under any circumstances.
