Benin Kingdom - Chiefs Declare  “Obaseki shall not be governor of Edo state even for one night”, Endorse Ize-Iyamu

We have assessed the two candidates and we have found that Ize-Iyamu is the man for the job – Royal Benin chiefs

A socio-cultural organisation in Edo State, Nedoghama Nedo, led by the Eson of Benin Kingdom, Chief Amos Osunbor,  endorsed the governorship candidate of the PDP , Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu yesterday.

The group is made up of chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, Traditional priests or Igiehon-Ohen, businessmen and women and professionals.

At the end of meeting on Friday, the entire membership resolved that they have endorsed  the PDP candidate because he possesses the capacity to restore the lost glory of Edo state and take the state to the future of its inhabitants’ dreams.

Osunbor, who also is the Eson of Benin Kingdom, said, “We have painstakingly assessed the two candidates (APC’s Godwin Obaseki and PDP’s Osagie Ize-Iyamu) and we have found that Ize-Iyamu is the man for the job”.

“The Benin Kingdom has decided” one of the chiefs who preferred not to be named said.

President of the group , Chief Douglas Usoh, the Odeobawu of Benin, who said that the organization has been in existence for many years added that came to its conclusion because it has the interest of all Binis at heart.

“Knowing that nineteen of our sons and daughters are contesting to be governor of Edo state , We as a group has carried out an objective assessment of the various candidates and found that the two are the front runners in the race”.

Secretary of the group, Chief Uwadiae Albert, the Uhenmure of Benin, added that , “Nedoghama Nedo, at a meeting held at the Eson’s house, unanimously voted to support the candidature of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu  of the PDP”.

“Although we are not supposed to be actively partisan but this matter at hand requires everyone in the kingdom to stand up and be counted on the Chief Ero side of Benin Kingdom said the chief. This is not a matter of PDP against APC. It is beyond that.

This is a matter between a traitorous family and our monarchy in reincarnation and we must stand to correct all the mistakes of the past by defending our king and our history, even if the price is our blood – let alone ‘political correctness’.

To show which side of the divide we are, we are not afraid to state it now – we endorse PDP. APC knows this hence they postponed the election hoping that they will manipulate the outcome or rig the election. But I tell you the truth Obaseki shall not be governor even for one night. APC may have postponed the election but they only postponed their doomsday!” The chief said.

The PDP leaders at the event were led by the state chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih, the senator representing party Edo South, Senator Mathew Urhoghide who is the Director General of Ize-Iyamu Campaign and Chief Henry Tenebe, the organizing Secretary of the party.

Expressing joy for the endorsement, Pastor Ize-Iyamu promised not to disappoint the Chiefs and the entire voting population of Edo state who are committed to effecting a change in the government of Edo state on September 28, 2016.
