Ize-Iyamu has the Best Qualifications Amongst All the Candidates Gunning for the Edo Governorship

I don’t think Osagie Ize-Iyamu is the best man to be the governor of Edo state, surely there are many Edo sons and daughters who can do a better job than he. The only problem is that many of those people who could do better are not contesting to be governor.

It is like the case of the beautiful woman in Nigeria contest organized by Ben Bruce. The girl who is crowned the most beautiful girl is not the most beautiful girl that there is, just that she is the most beautiful girl that the organizers of the event can find among those who made themselves available.

There are probably more beautiful girls who didn’t have the opportunity to show and those who may have had the opportunity may not show up perhaps because of religious beliefs, family constraints or personal convictions.

So among those who are currently contesting to be governor in Edo state, the most qualified is Osagie Ize-Iyamu. The man has the longest service evidence to political development and participation than the rest.

 In fact his investment in the life of others is legendary. His dedication to work and commitment to details and perfection is admirable.

Surely Osagie Ize-Iyamu is not perfect neither is he a saint. He has his own flaws and faults but you you can’t take away from him his dedication to the Edo Project. Hate him or like him you can’t but notice him. He makes winning look easy and politics look attractive.

Osagie Ize-Iyamu is neither flashy nor wasteful (nor wonder the nickname “kpelebe”). He is not garrulous or cantankerous. When he differs with you he still respects your person and ego.

Although tall and burly he is not bullish, with Osagie Ize-Iyamu you are free to Air your opinion even if it is different from his. He keeps his friends close and his enemies even closer. He is patient and slow to speak and even slower to get angry.

With lies all of the qualities of a good leader. No matter who has written about leadership from John Maxwell to dale Carnegie, to John F. Kennedy to Myles Monroe to Oyedepo or Oyakhilome etc all of the qualities I have listed about Osagie Ize-Iyamu are what their books talk about.

Like Daniel in the Bible it is difficult to find fault with Osagie Ize-Iyamu when it comes to personal conduct and public relations/behavior. Even with his enemies or detractors no one can say he drinks, attends wild or night parties like many politicians often do. He is not a womanizer nor does he have any bad habit save to have been determined to be governor for almost ten years.
