Now I understand from Oshiomhole's explanation ( via Victor Oshoke his media aide),why he picked somebody from his ward to be running mate to the APC guber candidate. It is an act that has little to do with sound political judgement. It is more of a face-saving gesture and insurance against electoral disgrace at home.

Why it took Oshiomhole so long to know that his popularity has depreciated so much that he can no longer win somebody a councillorship spot baffles me. Better late than never though.

He always prides himself as the man whose popularity vehicled APC members into elective offices for the past 7 years. But today,like the proverbial ingrate who is unappreciative of the benevolent spirits who cracked his nuts for him Oshiomhole has frittered away all the goodwill he enjoyed from Edo people without giving them anything in return. Edo people are so much angry with him.

So angry at his 360° turnaround on political slogans and principles.

So angry at his cosmetic projects.

So angry at his double standards.

So angry at his dictatorial and tyrannical proclivities.

So angry at his financial recklessness.

So angry at his lack of respect for elders and traditions.

So angry at his callousness to widows.

So angry at his irritating garrulity.

So angry at his disloyalty to benefactors.

So angry at his reckless borrowing and;

The man who once won 18/18 local govt areas in Edo state is no longer sure he can win his polling unit and ward. He did the smartest thing by bringing a cousin on board to help him avoid the imminent disgrace of losing his ward.

Yes,Phillip Shuaibu is on a rescue mission to save Oshiomhole's blushes. The question is;

Will they succeed in a climate where everybody wants their future to be secured right now.
